Legends is centrally located a few minutes walk to the east off Brighton Pier on the Marine Parade (Upper Promenade). We are just past the Brighton Wheel, within a 5 minutes walk is the Royal Pavilon, The Lanes Shopping Area & Brighton's main theatres. We are also just accross the road from the pier and the Volks Railway, which provides a link to the Marina if you prefer not to walk.
From the Airport
Gatwick Airport is 30 minutes away from Brighton.
From Gatwick you can catch a Southerrn or First Capital Connect train to Brighton. A single is around £10.
If you are traveling from Heathrow, National Express provide a coach service direct to Brighton's Pool Valley Bus Station (5 min from Legends) or catch the Heathrow Connect service to Paddington (then) District Line/Circle to Victoria (then) Southern Line from Victoria Railway station to Brighton. A taxi should cost around £50 from the Gatwick Airport to the hotel.
From the Railway Station
Southern or First Capital Connect operate trains from Victoria & St Pancreas & London Bridge. Ticket prices with a single costing around £16
Walking from Brighton Station to Legends takes roughly a 20 minutes..
Taxi from Brighton Station to Legends takes 5 minutes and will cost around £4.50
Bus from Brighton station. The number 7 bus to Brighton Marina and the 12 bus to Eastbourne depart ouside/near the front of Brighton Station. Catch the 7 get off at Co-Op St. James Street & walk down to the seafront, we will be on your right facing the sea. Or catch the 12 which stops at Steine Gardens just past the hotel. Old Routemaster 10 (London Bus) also operate in the Summer, get off at old Old Steine and walk east along seafont. A single journey is £2.20. See www.buses.co.uk for details of stops
M23/A23 from London take the A23 and follow signs into Brighton. Busy periods it may be quicker to follow A27 West route at the bottom of this page.
A27 East Brighton Bypass (Eastbourne direction) take the A270/Lewes Road into Brighton, otherwise follow the route for busy periods at the bottom of this page.
A259 Coast Road from Eastbourne or Worthing. You will find us just to the east of Brighton Piers & the Brighton Wheel.
A27 West Brighton Bypass (Worthing/Portsmouth direction) take the A2038 then A2023 via Hove into Brighton. During busy periods we suggest those coming from London also follow this route into Brighton as this could cut your journey time considerably. Please make sure you know the route to the hotel before undertaking this detour.

Legends is right on a bus route '12' along the seafront. The stop is at Steine Gardens just past the hotel. You can catch a bus on the north (Legends) side of the road which takes you to the Marina, Rottingdean, Eastbourne & beyond. A bus from the south (opposite) side of the road takes you towards Brighton Centre/Churchil Square, Hove & beyond. A single journey is £2.20 within Brighton & Hove. Train Services (Local)
Southern Railway operate local trains along the coast. East as far as Hastings or West as far as Southampton. Conecting services can take you even further. The journey East to Hastings takes just over one hour and costs around £20 return. seafront. Going West as far as Southampton will take approx two hours and cost around £25 return. Note: Rail fares quoted are a guide and cheaper off peak fares/restricted fares may be available so check to make sure you get the best deal. See www.southernrailway.com for details.
Brighton has a reasonabley priced taxi service comparable to most cities in the UK. A journey to Central Hove will cost around £7 pounds. Most short journeys within Brighton around £5. You can call a taxi at the phone by the hotels main entrance.
Volks Railway is the worlds oldest electric railway. Not only is it a tourist attaction buit it also provides a link to the Marina if you prefer the scenic route. (April-September £3.50 return last train 5pm or 6pm weekends or you can take a steady walk back)
Brighton is an old town with narrow streets and few hotels have parking so it's not the easiest place to park. However there are plenty of places to park if you know where to look. Take the train if possible, if not with our simple guide you should find it much easier to park. Download the guide or read on. If you are unsure of anything then pop into reception when you arrive and we'll point you in the right direction.
If you don't mind what you pay we suggest parking in the 'High Street Car Park' which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel or 'The Lanes car park' 10 mintes walk away
Marine Parade offers some parking. Madiera Drive is below Legends parralel to the seafront and offers more parking. Steps take you back up to Marine Parade & Legends. Parking cost from £7-£15 depending on season.
Vouchers are available from the hotel which allow you to park in residents zones on the streets around Legends Hotel (within blue line above/except New Steine )These spaces are limited so the earlier you arrive the more likely spaces will be easy to find. Voucher Parking costs £10.00. Most customers find a space using this method.
Car Parks & Other Parking
We are within easly reach of several public car parks. High Street Car Park is about 2 minutes walk and costs a reasonable £18.20* per day (24 hours).
